Today we’ll be looking at just how to ask about one’s task in Chinese. Prepared to start? All right, here we go.

Grammar

1) Expressing to do with 做 (zuò )
To do in Chinese is 做 (zuò). To do is a very useful verb which can create lots of verb phrases when connected with a noun both in English and in Chinese:
zuò做to do + 运动 (sports) 做运动 to do sports e.g. My elder brother likes to do sports.
yùn dòng zuò yùn dòng wǒ de gē ge xǐ huān zuò yùn dòng.
作业 (homework ) 做作业 to do homework e.g. I do the homework.
zuò yè zuò zuò yè wǒzuò zuò yè.
饭(food ) 做饭 to do food (to cook) e.g. My mother cooks.
fàn zuò fàn wǒ de mā ma zuò fàn.
蛋糕 (cake ) 做蛋糕 to make cake e.g. My wife makes a cake.
dàn gāo zuò dàn gāo wǒ de lǎo po zuò dàn gāo.
家务 (housework ) 做家务 to do housework e.g. We do the housework.
jiā wù zuò jiā wù wǒ men zuò jiā wù.
